SANDY

The SANDY buoy is a buoyancy-stabilized heaving point-absorber hydraulic buoy that succeeds the ILIAN buoy and was conceptualized by Maximilian Margolis in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in July 2024. The SANDY Buoy is currently being designed and tested primarily using MATLAB’s WEC-Sim.
